May 1, 2012 - Marines's Motorcycle Safety Month Kickoff Event at MCOLF Bogue Field, which is just East of Cape Carteret on Hwy 24, only a few miles from Camp Lejeune - This event last year drew over 200 motorcyclists from the Greater Camp Lejuene/Cherry Point/New River area. This year’s event will include representatives from the Governor’s Highway Safety Program, North Carolina Highway Patrol, and local law enforcement. In addition there will be riding skills challenge event among other activities.
May 1-3, 2012 - 8:00a to 5:00p - First Annual Raleigh Police Department Motor Officer Skills Competition. In partnership with the N.C. Governor's Highway Safety Program and Wake Technical Community College, the Raleigh Police Department is proud to host this event benefiting Special Olympics of North Carolina a the RPD Battlebridge Training Facility. FREE admission and open to the public on May 2 and 3! Food and beverage vendors will be on site. This event will provide an opportunity for police motor officers from departments
across North Carolina to come together to exhibit and improve their skills through
friendly competition in a variety of motorcycle skills courses. Prizes will be awarded
to participants who place first in each event and overall.
June 2 , 2012 - 8th Annual Blue Knights NCII Officer Down Memorial Ride, 9:00a to 4:00p at Ray Price Harley Davidson, Raleigh, NC. The Blue Knights is an International Law Enforcement motorcycle club. The North Carolina II club which meets in Garner but represents Wake, Lee and Durham Counties is sponsoring the annual Officer Down Memorial Ride for 2012. Registration will be at Ray Price Harley Davidson from 9am to 11am. Kickstands up and ride starts at 11am for about an hour and half ride ending at the Freedom Biker Church at 1pm. Food, music and vendors will be on hand for your enjoyment.
